As well as LearningTalk assignments, Joe
is a lecturer at The Michael Smurfit Graduate School of Business UCD, and
the National College of Ireland. He lectures in Project Management, Management Information Systems
& Research Methods at both Undergraduate &
Masters level, and is currently researching a PhD in Virtual Teams &
Project Management.
In recent years,
he has successfully implemented several major
international projects in Sales Force Automation, Customer Relationship
Management and Telemetry systems to user communities of up to 2,000 users
in 20 countries. One of his teams won the UK Mobile Computing Award
in 2001 for their implementation of the XcelleNet Afaria System to the
pan-European field salesforce of a major Specialty Chemicals company.
Joe
graduated from the Michael Smurfit Graduate School of Business in 2004
with an International Executive MBA. He has presented at
industry seminars in the UK, mainland Europe, and Washington DC, USA on
subjects such as Mobile Computing, "Maximizing Return on Investment from IT
Projects", and "Implementing International IT Projects".
Joe is a
Fellow of the Information Technology
& Business Teachers of Ireland, and a Member of the Project
Management Institute, Irish
Computer Society, Irish Management
Institute, and Institute of
Project Management of Ireland.
In
his spare time Joe is a keen amateur photographer - he is a contributing
photographer with

Gerry has won major deals at Wireless Operators & Carriers;
Network Infrastructure
Vendors; Global Capital Market Banks; Telecoms Value Added Services
Providers and OEMs; ISP and ASPs;
Multinational Corporations; State Owned Enterprises and Utilities -
Transport and Energy; Datacommunications OEMs; UK Ministry of Defence; and
Semiconductor manufacturers.
After qualifying from DIT as a MechEng
Dip., Gerry worked on semiconductor assembly processes and quickly
transferred to a sales and marketing role. He has sold worldwide for some
of the leading companies in their respective markets - K&S, Cornel,
Lake and LogicaCMG.
He has a proven record of sales
achievement and sales team leadership, having managed sales teams ranging
from start ups to global MNCs, both direct and indirect sales through
channels.
Recent
responsibilities included managing Global Alliances for LogicaCMG -
a role that required selling to board level within the major
infrastructure vendors such as Nortel, Motorola and Alcatel.
Gerry graduated from the Michael Smurfit Graduate
School of Business in 2004 with an International Executive MBA.
He is a member of the Irish Management
Institute.
